Former Arsenal Star Thomas Partey Denies Sexual Assault Allegations
Ex-Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault two women and sexually assaulting a additional complainant.
The Ghanaian midfielder entered denials to multiple charges of rape and an additional count of sexual assault when he stood before judges at Southwark Crown Court.
The alleged offences were said to have happened between 2021 and 2022, when the professional athlete regularly played in the Premier League. He was charged several days after leaving the north London club, following the conclusion of his contract at the summer period.
Mr Partey was released on conditional bail until his court case, which is scheduled to begin at the same court on 2 November next year.
He spoke to confirm his identity before pleading not guilty to each of the charges leveled at him.
The professional player, who now plays Spanish side Villareal, was present in the UK as his current club faced Spurs in the Champions League on Tuesday. He was substituted as a substitute in what resulted in a 1-0 loss for his team.
The conditions of his bail do not prevent Mr Partey from continuing his professional career, but he must notify police of any international travel 24 hours in advance and must avoid communication with the complainants.
