19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's first trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Success also means he has won 21 championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led observers to question if his ability to perform at the top level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
He defended 4 initial break points in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
