Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the state, bringing wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Impact
Locals observed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities verified that various areas across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Rescue organizations handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along significant areas of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity expected across different parts of both areas.

Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
